TODDLER TIME

During their second year of life, children continue to grow
and explore at a very rapid pace. Our teachers are very active in making sure each child is recognized as an individual. A child is exposed to a variety of activities throughout their day in order nurture every area of development. The curriculum is designed to allow the children choice and expression while demonstrating structure and routine. We can only begin to explain the zillions of wonderful things each of our children will be introduced to from the curriculum, their
peers and their ability to reach out.

Social Growth- The children will engaging in whole group circle time, games and team work activities in a daily gym class, introduction to sharing and taking turns, utilizing our best manners "please" and "thank- you", self- expression through music and art, and discussions of family and their surroundings but; most importantly, keeping a connection with God through
songs, prayers, stories and discussions!

Emotional Growth- The first steps into potty training can prove to be a very emotional decision, our teachers will work with the family on the best plan for each child. Expressing feelings properly "I am happy when..." "It makes me sad when...." Free play time for choice and creativity. Open
ended art for expression and development.

Cognitive Growth- Children will begin putting expressions into
complete sentences. Beginning to understand sequencing of numbers and letters. Engaging music into each activity. Enjoy being read to and mimicking reading motions on their own. Bringing toys/puppets to life with a family structure and voices of their own. Can follow two step tasks with minimal prompting.

Physical Growth- In our gym, they will develop coordination skills and strengthen their bodies as they sprout into preschoolers. Learning to utilize eating and drawing utensils and properly wash hands helps them become self-sufficient. Discovering differences in height, eye color, gender and hair color gives them an appreciation for the world around them.
"Children learn as they play. More importantly, in play children learn how to learn!"
